Impeachment and Separation of Powers.
U.S. House of Representatives (House) has forwarded two Articles of Impeachment against President of the U.S. Donald Trump (President) . The U.S. Senate will start the trial shortly. The Abuse of Power is a valid Article. The other one, Obstruction of Congress, may not be valid. Here we have a quandary. The House has the sole power of Impeachment, then how are they to do their Constitutionally mandated duty of keeping the a check on the power of the President, if the President refuses. The House can't compel the Executive Branch to do anything they don't want to do. There is a Separation of Powers Issue. Then the House would have to go to the the other branch of the government for relief. That would be the Supreme Court (SCOTUS). The Executive Branch retains the authority to operate without interference from other branches. Except that what is Constitutionally enumerated. So not a honoring subpoena could be construed as the Executive Branch exercising it's ...
