Thayer Immigration Initiative

I proposed this about a decade ago. No one wanted to listen. This is my solution for the immigration problem.

Thayer Immigration Initiative

1.  Declare six month immigration, amnesty, grace period or whatever you want to call it.

2.  Notify all illegal aliens that they must register within the time period in order to gain citizenship.

3.  Divide the country into sections along the lines of the United States District Courts. For the purpose of all legal proceedings concerning immigration.

4.  Aliens must prove that they have held a job are crime free, and have at least an 5^th grade understanding of the reading, writing, and speaking of English.

5.  Once they are registered, then confiscate their next three years Federal income tax as a fine for entering illegally. After three years test them, issue them a Social Security card, and citizenship.  

6.  All persons who have served in the armed forces, and have been honorably discharged, automatically gain citizenship, along with wife and any children they might have.

7.  Streamline the citizenship process from 10-14 year to 3-8 years.

8.  All those not registered after 6 month period get deported. 

Closing the Border.

1.  Build 20 mile sections of fence and patrol with drones. And leave 5 mile gaps open.

2.  Patrol heavily, the open border, and respond to fence breaches’ on an as needed basis.

3.  Rotate Border Patrol Officers from remote sectors every 6 months to cut down on corruption.

4.  Partner with local municipalities, and state governments to provide support for the mission.

5.  Set up section to support deportation operations.

6.  Split the Apprehension, holding, and deporting from the Judicial, and give them two different budgets, two different directors, and both answer to one person.

7.  Come into the 21^st Century by using satellites, solar power, wind power, and geothermal energy resources in support of the overall mission.
