Harvard President Resigns

“ But she defended the value and originality of her scholarship, even while conceding that she had duplicated language from other academics “without proper attribution” in her published work. Several of the scholars whose work Gay was accused of plagiarizing had previously told news outlets they considered the citation issues highlighted by conservative media outlets to be relatively minor, or even  not plagiarism at all , with one scholar  calling it  “technically plagiarism” but “minor-to-inconsequential”, and  another saying : “This isn’t even close to an example of academic plagiarism.” The above quote is taken from an article on the Guardian website. Here is a link to the site and the entire article. https://www.yahoo.com/news/claudine-gay-warns-broader-war-031530581.html   I am going to comment on this Havard president's resignation. Let us begin with the antisemitism on campus issue. The question she was asked was a simple yes or no.   The answ...

Jerre Stewart Henderson 1945- 2023

Image
My mother-in-law Jerre Henderson passed away on Friday December 8, 2023, in La Junta Colorado with her daughters Jerlinda, and Rhonda by her side.  Jerre and her husband Donald Henderson MSgt USMC retired, were patriots. They sacrificed to make our country safe. They were not perfect people, but patriots seldom are. When Donald was in Vietnam for two years, Jerre was the glue that held the family together. She had extraordinary skills, in cooking, cleaning, banking, discipline,  logistics, and much more. She was a gracious, and nice individual who treated me well. We never had a cross-word or an ugly tone. We were friends and I am going to miss her. My life will be a darker place without her. So rest in peace Jerre, as best you can, and don't worry about Cathy, that is her cross to bear. Two friends lost. Within 6 weeks.

Magnusen Sr. or Wayne. Wayne and I had been friends since were 9 years old, some 50 years. We have been friends since either of us could remember. We were akin to brothers, as neither one of us had brothers, just sisters. Wayne was part of our family. Wayne was my friend through the hard part of my life. The part of my life when the world had a problem with me, and I had a problem with the world. He was my friend when it was socially unacceptable to be such. Just l...

In requiem de amicus

Dominick   In Requiem De Amicus A tribute to all friends,   Too many to mourn, too few to see, May the Lord forgive the best of them And have mercy on the rest of them, The world was brighter for them having come And a darker one for them having gone In requiem de amicus In remembrance of friends. Rest In Peace my friends one and all. My condolences, on the loss of your trusted friend. I feel in my heart for you honey. Just remember the good times and not the other, to help you get through the day. I only met him two or three times, and he seemed to be an upbeat individual. He would want you to be your always upbeat, and sunny smiling self. From what I could see, the world is a better place for him having come, and is a  darker place for his having gone. I know you have al kinds of support, but call me of you need to talk, Baby Sister has my digits. May your heart find solace in this time of sorrow, God bless you and him.  You sent

Romney

Gotta love that Mitt Romney. He takes his parting shots at the Republican Party. We had better listen to him, he is speaking a truth that no one wants to hear but is happening right before our face. We are at a crossroads in politics like we haven't seen in over 50 years. The mantle of leadership is being passed from one generation to another. The future leaders are going to be younger, and more concerned with the future, rather than the past. The leadership is changing from too old Baby Boomers, and middle aged Gen X'ers, to younger millennials, and Gen Y. 2024, will be the last hurrah for politicians like Feinstein, McConnell, Trump, RFK Jr, and Biden. Romney was correct, the Republican Party needs to get out the youth vote. Same with the Democrats. Whether the Trumplicns in that wing of the party like it or not, voters are going to care less about 2020 than 2025 and be...

Rich Men North of Richmond

You can't help anyone move forward if they can't get out of their own way. Those Appalachian states get more money from the government than they pay in taxes. Why not use that money to retrain people to do a job with more of a 20-year life expectancy. Maybe then there won't be so many "people dying i the street." He needs to look at himself, and the poor, and put some of the blame on them, before he goes blaming others. Look in the mirror, then out the window.  Too bad for the firefighters. They get what they get. They made their bed, time to sleep. That is what happens when you get involved in politics. Firefighting is a noble profession and business, politics is not.                   The firefighters and Disney 8/2023

Trucking Deregulation

The DOT has been around since the mid-‘60s, but yes FMCSA was enacted on 1/1/2000, in response to The Motor Carrier Act 1980. This is what the aforementioned act did for trucking. This is Jimmy Carter talking upon signing of the Act 1/7 1980: “This is historic legislation. It will remove 45 years of excessive and inflationary Government restrictions and red tape. It will have a powerful anti-inflationary effect, reducing consumer costs by as much as $8 billion each year. And by ending wasteful practices, it will conserve annually hundreds of millions of gallons of precious fuel. All the citizens of our Nation will benefit from this legislation. Consumers will benefit, because almost every product we purchase has been shipped by truck, and outmoded regulations have inflated the prices that each one of us must pay. The shippers who use trucking will benefit as new services and price options appear. Labor will benefit from increased job opportunities. And the trucking industry its...
