Marvins Rules of Highway Worker Survival

Never turn your back on traffic, stay facing or parallel to traffic. Your sightline is your lifeline. Leave yourself an unobstructed view of traffic. Use vehicles, and safety barriers for traffic cushion. When working on pavement watch and work, nothing else. No arguing, do that later off the pavement. Have a vehicle, and personal escape route for errant vehicles. Equipment can be replaced people can’t. Wait for traffic to clear. Don’t be in a hurry. Pay attention. Don’t become complacent. Complacency breeds accidents.
