Marvins Rules of Highway Worker Survival
Never turn
your back on traffic, stay facing or parallel to traffic.
Your
sightline is your lifeline. Leave yourself an unobstructed view of traffic.
Use
vehicles, and safety barriers for traffic cushion.
When working
on pavement watch and work, nothing else.
No arguing,
do that later off the pavement.
Have a
vehicle, and personal escape route for errant vehicles.
Equipment
can be replaced people can’t.
Wait for
traffic to clear. Don’t be in a hurry.
Pay attention.
Don’t become complacent.
Complacency
breeds accidents.
