Anarchy in the NFL
This is just an observation about the NFL. It seems now that Michael Bennett is representing the players when he states, that no talk about standing up for the Anthem will be done until Kapernick has a job in the NFL. The NFL has lost control of their own product, through ineptness, impotence, and plain stupidity. That stupidity starts and ends with Godell. He is the most inept individual to run a major business in years. His inability to be consistent in dicipline and neogations with the players and their contract has led the NFL to its current state of anarchy. He is in charge and as such is responsible for what happens. Michael Bennett, needs to think that particular threat all the way through. I they continue to sit, then the NFL will lose fans, when that happens, the NFL loses money. If the owners and the NFL lose money, then football either goes away or diminishes in popularity. When that happens less players, or no players will be needed. When that happens then no more million dollar contracts, sigining bonuses, or endorsement deals. When that happens, then those players will have to go and get a job that doesn't pay quite as much. They will have protested, and brought the issue, arguably to the forefront of societial conscience. In the end though all they wll have dne is bring attention to an issue that society was already paying attention to, and bring about their own economic destruction. They will not have solved the underlying problem that started the protest in the first place. They should look at the long term ramifications of their actions and threats. Just a thought.
