Lawful Dissent v. Unlawful Sedition
For the
record, what Sen. Cruz, and Sen Hawley did was called dissent, dissent is
lawful in our country. So, not seating any Senators who participated, censure,
or expulsion is inappropriate, and wrong. Cruz and his colleague’s voiced their
dissent in the proper manner. Those at the Capitol on Wed, did not voice their
dissent in the proper manner, at least not in a civilized society. Those at the
Capitol will get their hands slapped, and Cruz et al; will get a hammered in a
court of law, and public opinion, and that is the travesty, as it should be the
other way around. The rule of law is the proper way to voice dissent, not
sedition and insurrection.
I, in no way
agree with the way Cruz went about it. What I do agree with is that there is a problem.
So what we need to do is solve the problem NOW, not near another, or after
another election. There is going to have to be compromise, and that compromise
is going to have to be hammered out in the coming months, weeks, and years. We
must come to an agreement that everyone can live with.
There are
several issues that need to be addressed, we have one element of what I call
the Bipartisan Election Solution Triangle, or B.E.S.T, already accomplished, we
have identified the numerous problems. Now let us work the problem. Let us
figure out what we want, what we can and can’t live without, and what we don’t
want. Only then, will a solution come. We need to fix this problem where it is equitable
for all; to at the very least restore some sort of faith of the electorate in
the honesty of our elections, and at the most to save our Republic.
Make no
mistake, we are on the slippery slope, we can keep from falling into that dark precipice
of socialism or despotism by grabbing on to compromise. Compromise will be the way
to restoring the faith of the electorate in the honesty of our election, and
thus resting our fall into a darkness we all dread, no matter our ideology. It is
B.E.S.T for all. Thank you, have a safe day, and God bless you all, and God
bless the United States of America.
