Games That Daddies Play

I listened to the song, Games That Daddies Play, by Conway Twitty for years. I then got involved with a woman with a child that didn't have a father. I brought him into the family, so he could get an idea of how the family operates. The boy needed a positive male influence in his life to show him how to be a good man. I did the best I could to make sure that he grew up to be a good and decent man. He and I are still close. He is a good and decent family man. They have the same kind of family we had when I was young. He was loved and accepted into our family as if he were blood. I have been around him since he was 9 years old. I saw wrong and did the best I could to make it right. I made mistakes with him, and we had some rough spots, but I never gave up on him, and he never gave up on me. I have screwed up everything in my life. Except my marriage, and the kids. My kids are good decent adults and are not someone society can do without. They are my legacy. I am proud of all my children. I never had any blood children, I just tried to help those who didn't have a father figure. I did what I could based on what my father taught me. I didn't marry any of their mothers, but we all get along. If the dad would have come to the door wanting to have a relationship, I would have let them. But not one did. I don't usually let this information out, but it needs to be said; that not all men play those games that daddies play. This song opened my eyes to see that what was in front of me. My father did the same with a very good friend of mine. We have been friends for 45 years. he gave me a bicycle last month. He told me, to have the bike, because my father bought him a bike, when he didn't a bike or a father, and he never forgot. Like I said, I did the best I knew how, for good and bad.
