Goodbye Father

 Goodbye Father

Well father, here I am  a lost child once

again, with no direction. Now, I do not have you

to show me the way, or to help me along. What

will I do? I wasted so much time not listening. I

regret the times that I was a problem, you did

not deserve any of that. I could have been a

better son. In the end, I owed you much more

than I could repay. I had to do the things the

way I did them. If I were as smart as I think I am,

I would have listened to you once in a while.

These are my regrets and they are not in

dispute.

I would like to thank you for the things that

you have given me over the years. I would like

to thank you for the mental toughness to live

life. For the driving vocation, and appreciation

of all things cars and trucks. I would like to

thank you for teaching me to think for myself,

and to make my own decisions right or wrong. I

would like to thank you for the wisdom

concerning finances, and the honesty that goes

with it. I would like to thank you for the

compassion for the less fortunate in this world.

I would like to thank you for the work ethic,

and the self-reliance that you lived by example.

Do as I do, and as I say. I would like to thank you

you for standing by me in the hard times of my

life, when you should have given up on me. I

would have given up on me, that is why you

were a better man than I. I would like to thank

you for sacrifice of years at the end, to take

care of me in the beginning. You paid the cost,

so, the least I can do is be a better man than I

have been. So that your sacrifice will not have

been in vain. I would like to thank you for being

the man that you were. You and I are the same

and we are different, I would like to thank you

for that, and finally, I would like to thank you

for loving my mother, my sister, my nephew

and me unconditionally. I love you father, these

are for what I thank you. No more hands in

your pockets, no more pain. Please rest in

peace, the lord knows you deserve it. Goodbye

father, goodbye.
